University of Phoenix acknowledges that many service members like you have
already achieved an education equivalent to an associate's degree through
college coursework, military training and experience, and national testing
programs. The University of Phoenix Associate of Arts Degree through Credit
Recognition program allows you to fulfill your degree requirements by
recognizing approved college level learning to award an Associate of Arts
degree—with the option of a professional focus—no matter where you are located
throughout the world.
If you are active duty military, retired military, a veteran, a spouse of active
duty military personnel, a full- or part-time Reservist, a National Guard or
Coast Guard member, or a Department of Defense employee, you are eligible for
the Associate of Arts Degree through Credit Recognition program.

Will My Credits Transfer?

Degree Requirements
You are required to have a minimum of 60 credits to complete your Associate of
Arts Degree through Credit Recognition. You are required to have a 2.0 minimum
cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) in all coursework completed at University
of Phoenix. If you do not meet this requirement, additional coursework may be
completed to improve your GPA. Acceptance of your coursework from accredited
colleges and universities will be based upon prevailing University of Phoenix
transfer credit policies. All of your credits accepted in transfer to the
University will be posted on the University of Phoenix transcript. Failing
grades will not be posted on the University of Phoenix transcript.

English Proficiency Requirement
You may choose one of the following ways to
demonstrate proficiency in the area of first-year
college level English; achieving a grade of "C-" or
better in COMM/215, Essentials of College Writing;
passing the CLEP English exam; passing the
University of Phoenix English Proficiency Exam; or
achieving a grade of "B" or better in a comparable
and recognized college composition course at an
approved regional or national accredited college or
university within two years of application to
University of Phoenix.
