1-800-Wheelchair Scholarship Fund

1800Wheelchair.com is proud to announce our second annual scholarship award. Established in 2006, the scholarship fund will award one $500 scholarship to an undergraduate student on January 30, 2008. The scholarship is open to students of any major or concentration. The winner's name, essay and photo will be posted on 1800wheelchair.com. Although not a requirement, preference will be given to students with mobility disabilities.

Adelante/United Parcel Service Leadership Program Scholarship

The Adelante/United Parcel Service Leadership Program Scholarship is available to Hispanic students. You must be a full-time student studying business or a related field. You must also have at least a 3.0 GPA and demonstrate financial need to be eligible. Two letters of recommendation are required with your application.

Akademos/TextbookX.com 2007 Fall Scholarship

The Akademos/TextbookX.com 2007 Fall Scholarship is available to undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in good standing at an accredited college or university in the United States. You must be a legal resident of the United States or an international student with a valid visa to be eligible. To apply, you must write a 250- to 750-word essay on: What responsibility, if any, do countries have in preventing environmental damage?

All-Ink.com College Scholarship Program

The All-Ink.com College Scholarship Program is available to students who are enrolled or planning to enroll in an accredited college or university with a minimum 2.5 GPA. You must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident to be considered. To apply, you must submit a 50- to 200-word essay on who has had the greatest impact on your life, and a 50- to 200-word essay on what you hope to achieve in your personal and professional life after college.

Alvin J. Cox Memorial Fund

The Alvin J. Cox Memorial Fund is available to college students in need of financial assistance. You must submit an essay on any topic of your choosing as long it includes: Your reason for deciding to attend college, your reason as to why you believe you deserve the scholarship and your chosen college major.

The Blacknews.com Fall 2007 Scholarship is available to undergraduate and graduate students who attend or plan to attend a school in the United States. The BlackStudents.com Fall 2007 Scholarship Essay Contest is available to students in the United States who attend or plan to attend a school in the United States. One or both of your parents must be African-American and you must submit a 500-word essay on why you feel (or don't feel) that cigarettes and tobacco-based products should be legal.

Blogging for Progress Scholarship

The Blogging for Progress Scholarship is available to students who are age 16 or older as of April 15, 2007 and will be attending a regionally or nationally accredited college, university or vocational school during the 2007 or 2008 calendar year. You must create a blog and write about current events, society, the environment and public policy. Winners are selected based on an accumulation of participation points.

The College Insider Resources Scholarship Program is available to undergraduate students who have a minimum 2.5 GPA. You must be enrolled at an accredited college, university or technical school to be eligible.

Family Common Knowledge Challenge

The Family Common Knowledge Challenge is available to high school and college students as well as parents. This challenge is made up of questions generated from information that spans the 1950s to 2006. The program is designed to have generations of family members work together to answer the quiz questions. The Challenge has four quizzes. Each week during January, a new multiple-choice quiz will be available at the Common Knowledge Scholarship Foundation website. Each weekly quiz will consist of 15 to 25 questions. Questions include such topics as music, culture, movies, television, news events and issues in government.

FBI Common Knowledge Challenge

The FBI Common Knowledge Challenge is available to current high school and college students. The intent of the scholarship is to assist students in understanding what it means to work for the FBI as an agency and how to choose the agency as a career path. You will participate in a quiz at the Common Knowledge Scholarship Foundation website during the third week of October (Sunday through Saturday). Quiz questions will come from information found on the FBI website.

Frank O’Neill Memorial Scholarship

The Frank O’Neill Memorial Scholarship is available to students attending a university, college, trade school, technical institute, vocational training or other post-secondary education program in the 2006-2007 academic year. You must submit an essay of fewer than 750 words on how one instance of peer pressure has made a positive or negative impact on your life and if given the chance, would you change this instance.

The HBCU "African-American and Hispanic Unity" Essay Contest is available to graduating high school seniors, undergraduate and graduate students. You must submit an essay between 500 and 2,500 words explaining your thoughts and solutions to the points listed on the sponsor's website.

Hispanic Scholarship Fund, College Scholarship Program

The Hispanic Scholarship Fund, College Scholarship Program is open to full-time undergraduate and graduate students who are of Hispanic background. You must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, have a minimum 3.0 GPA and have completed a minimum of 12 semester credits of undergraduate work from an accredited college in the United States or Puerto Rico.

Lagrant Foundation Scholarship

The Lagrant Foundation Scholarship is open to full-time minority sophomores, juniors, seniors and graduate students who are U.S. citizens majoring in public relations, marketing or advertising. Undergraduate students must have a minimum 2.75 GPA to be considered. Graduate students must have a minimum of two semesters left to complete their master's degree and have a minimum 3.2 GPA. In addition to your application, you must write an essay detailing your career goals, accomplishments and the reasons why you should be selected for the award. If you are chosen to receive this scholarship, you must attend the Lagrant Foundation's career development and awards reception.

The MamasHealth.com Scholarship Award is available to freshman, sophomore and junior students attending a college or university in the United States with a minimum 2.3 GPA. You must submit an essay with a maximum of 750 words and address the following question: Should states enact laws that would require girls to be vaccinated against Human Papillomavirus (HPV)?

Ronald Reagan Future Leaders Program

The Ronald Reagan Future Leaders Program is open to students who demonstrate leadership on behalf of the cause of freedom, American values and constitutional principles. This program recognizes outstanding young leaders on campus and in the community who are making significant, positive differences to promote American values on their college campus. To be eligible, you must be a U.S. citizen and be enrolled full time and in good standing at any accredited, four-year degree-granting institution in the United States or its territories. An essay describing your background, educational and career objectives, leadership and achievements, among other criteria, will be required. Finally, you will be asked to submit at least two letters of recommendation.
